What are the chances for Aston Martin to join forces with HONDA for 2026? Is it possible while Fernando still there or absolutely not? Would HONDA be interested whatsoever?
Mercedes is an Aston Martin shareholder.

What stops Honda from buying those shares from Mercedes? :)

With the situation Mercedes is in, I doubt if they would ace the 2026 engines. So it's probably a good idea for Aston to consider Honda. It's a mutually good partnership.

In that case, if there is a risk of Mercedes pull out, Honda would be logical. Honda and Aston Martin already co-existed on the Red Bull in 2019/2020 iirc.

This could be Fairy Tale stuff in the making!

Bring on the 2012 start, and let's settle the WDC on the back 9.😏

Some concerns were raised here previously about the performance of the AMR23 in Jeddah due to the different requirements of the track. Well, I'm not allowed to say more, but let's just say that maybe things aren't as they seem, in a good way. To be confirmed next week.

No but I have a friend who more or less is and you cant relay sensitive info around like nothing. I just wanted to reply to the posts saying Aston might suffer in Jeddah that it's not necessarily the case due to something which I cannot mention. We'll see anyways, nothing is promised and we need to keep our feet in the ground in the meanwhile.

Hope its true [-o< [-o< [-o< then we are set for the season.
Why there is a 2 week of a gap for the next race; feels like 2 months #-o

Probably just a low df wing.

For sure they just can't race with what they had in Bahrain. Might be some other upgrades already?

It was clear why AMR was slow on the straight. Their wing was big.

It's quite trivial to assume they have a solution for Jeddah.

In other news, this Spanish publication is reporting that if Mercedes don't improve and Aston keeps beating them then the engines with the best numbers will go to Aston Martin, which would mean an increase of 4 hp. Not too sure about the reliability of the portal but I share it anyways.

Yes their wing was larger than the other teams.. but not as much performance in high speed as RB/Ferrari still. So if they have to go to a low wing, will they suffer in high speed at Saudi like Merc did at Bahrain?

The amr23 so far has characteristics very similar to last year's Ferrari. Unless it's a chameleon or unless they have large upgrades for race 2, it's unlikely those characteristics change with a wing change (as all teams will make)

Of course they will have a lower df wing but will that be a problem-solver? I'm not convinced.

It's not even a bad thing.. every car has strong points & weak points. If the car has the best mechanical grip/low speed performance in Bahrain it's unlikely that the same car will be even quicker at Saudi Arabia where that factor is of little importance

Of course the AMR overall does not appear to have as much downforce at high speeds as the RB and they weren't on pole or quite as quick as the RB19, but it still looked 2nd quickest. All they do is follow the modeling simulations. The simulations told them that this downforce (and drag) level is good for Bahrain. It was.

I expect a different wing in Jeddah. It's still inherently a very quick car. Mercedes with their biggest wings during pre-season never looked as good as the AMR. So floor downforce is also there.
