Renault working late

By on

The Mild Seven Renault team's mechanics worked late into the Brazilian night yesterday in Sao Paulo to finish fitting the latest aerodynamics developments on the R25. There are only 3 races left until the end of the season, but the Renault F1 Team is still working flat out.

The proof came with a new aero package in Sao Paulo: the floor, wings and bodywork have been subtly adapted to bring performance gains. But the evolution also expresses something more: the total commitment of the team at Enstone, Viry and on track.

Bob Bell, Chassis Technical Director “The R25’s new aero package is something that makes me very proud of our team. We want to carry on fighting to win the two world titles, and to do so, everybody is working with total commitment. The developments for Sao Paulo were produced twice as fast as normal: from wind tunnel testing, to production, to testing in Silverstone, we beat our own records for production speed. That speaks volumes for how hard everybody is working.”

The consequence of this race against time was that the parts that arrived in Sao Paulo (including a large number in Bob’s own suitcase!) still required some adjustment. The mechanics worked late into the night, only leaving once the job had been fully completed. The R25’s are lying in the garage, ready to roar into life in 90 minutes’ time…
