Nicolas Todt, the manager of Sebastien Bourdais, admitted that the F1 future of the Frenchman is not yet guaranteed. Todt declared to RMC that he is negotiating a contract extension for 2009 at the Scuderia Toro Rosso.

Nicolas Todt said: "In F1, whether it is your first or your tenth year, you always have something to prove and you are always judged on your most recent races. Right now, Sebastien's future in F1 is not yet assured, but I have a good feeling that he can stay at Toro Rosso."

Bourdais finished Sunday's European Grand Prix in 10th position, team mate Vettel crossed the line in 6th position.
