Shangai circuit built on polystyrene

"Blick" reports that well known circuit designer, Hermann Tilke has revealed that the new Shanghai International Circuit will be a first in more ways that one. Above the fact that it will host the first Formula One event in China ever, it will be the first track in the entire world built completely on a polystyrene foundation!As the area where the circuit will be built for next season’s debut Chinese Grand Prix is predominantly swampland, the polystyrene needs to be used as a foundation. In fact, workers need to use so much of the substance that Asia is currently facing a shortage!
