Kubica wants to get the maximum out of the F1.09

In just two and a half years as a GP regular for the BMW Sauber F1 Team, Robert Kubica has established as one of the top drivers at the pinnacle of motor racing. Nonetheless, he is of the opinion that he has not yet made the final step on his way up.

"Last year, I had a good chance," Kubica says. "Maybe not the chance of winning the title but of securing a slightly better championship position. This year, however, we will have to cope with a completely different situation. The 2008 season is over and we have to focus on this year now. We have to get the maximum out of the car and be prepared as good as possible when we hit the road for the season opener."

When it comes to realising these goals, Robert mainly relies on the support of his team - and on the new BMW Sauber F1.09. "BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen said that a lot of the team's resources were used for designing and developing our 2009 challenger, in the second half of the 2008 season. So I hope that this effort will have paid off and the BMW Sauber F1.09 is the car that enables us to realise the goals we have set ourselves for 2009."
