BMW Sauber F1 Team driver Nick Heidfeld declared that he is not among the three drivers who have already paid for their mandatory 2009 super licences. The Grand Prix Drivers Association agreed not to pay the controversial high fees to the FIA, but it appears that three drivers already did.

Nick Heidfeld said to the newspaper 'Gulf Daily News': "I haven't paid. I think that the letter that went out explained our point very well and also my point of view."
