F1 Test, Jerez, Circuit Permanente de Jerezes

The Brawn GP team resumed testing action at the Circuito de Jerez in southern Spain today following the successful debut test of the BGP 001 car in Barcelona last week. The final three-day test before the start of the 2009 Formula One season sees the team continue its evaluation and development of its new car prior to the first race in Melbourne.

Rubens Barrichello was at the wheel of the BGP 001 today and completed 107 laps of the Jerez circuit, posting the fastest time of 1:19.236 as he completed a series of set-up and tyre evaluations, in addition to a number of race start simulations. Rubens will continue his running tomorrow morning before team-mate Jenson Button takes over in the afternoon session for the remaining day and a half of the test.

Rubens Barrichello: "We had a good day of testing today completing over a hundred laps of the Jerez circuit. It is hotter in Jerez than it was in Barcelona last week and therefore more representative of the temperatures that we can expect for the first few races, so it is good preparation for myself and the car. The car ran very well once again and we are increasing our understanding of its characteristics every day."
