Wurz not retained as test driver for Brawn GP

Alexander Wurz will not be retained as test driver for Brawn GP in 2009 and this despite the fact that he was already under contract when the former Honda team changed hands over the winter. Nick Fry, Chief Executive of Brawn GP, said that the decision was strictly financial as they can not afford to pay the wages of the Austrian development driver.

Fry was quoted by news agency 'APA': "We are not rich enough to employ a third driver. Alex will still be with us, but he will have different tasks. We want to work with him, but he is not going to be driving for us."
