Briatore happy with great victory for Renault

The Managing Director of the Renault F1 Team saluted a great team performance today in Shanghai. The flamboyant Briatore thanks the whole team, not only drivers Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella.

Interview with Flavio Briatore

Flavio, what did you feel after the win…
"This was a great victory for Renault. We dominated the race, and did the right job, at the right time. That is why we are world champions."

You have said the constructors’ championship meant less to you than the drivers’ crown. Do you still agree?
"For us, the drivers’ championship was the priority. But after we managed that well, and won it, then people started to build up the constructors’ championship as the most important, saying that if we didn’t win it, we would have failed this season. So I am happy we have won both, because we have done the job this year."

A word about your drivers…
"People criticised Giancarlo last weekend, but not us in the team. We stand together and today, he did a fantastic job. Fernando was superbe. For me, this is not just a Renault team, it’s a dream team."
