Rosberg on top at Sepang

F1 Grand Prix, GP Malaysia, Sepang International Circuit

The first free practice session of the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang, ended with the Williams F1 duo nicely on top of the timesheets. Nico Rosberg was the fastest man on track followed by team mate Kazuki Nakajima and Brawn GP driver Jenson Button.

The biggest incident during this first free practice session was when smoke was coming out of Kimi Raikkonen's cockpit. The Finn loosened his seatbelts to keep his helmet out of the smoke and found his way back to the pitlane where his team foamed the cockpit to stop the smoking.

Besides the incident with Raikkonen, Renault F1 Team driver Nelson Piquet Jr. had an accident of his own. The young Brazilian spun into the gravel as something broke of his R29.

After the first practice session at Sepang, it is clear that the pace of the Brawn GP and Williams duo were not fake at Melbourne as both teams were back on top of the timesheets. They were followed by the Ferrari's who seemed to have recovered from a poor weekend at Australia.
