The Scuderia Ferrari will not use its kinetic energy recovery system, KERS, during this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix. This was announced by team principal Stefano Domenicali during a press meeting at Shanghai.

The decision immediately raises questions about Ferrari's KERS reliability, as the car's performance at the long straight in China would undoubtedly benefit. It also remains to be seen how well the Ferrari's will get off the grid between KERS powered cars of Renault and McLaren.

On a positive note, Ferrari may well have found that their car needs a different weight distribution, a car feature that can be changed more easily without a heavy KERS device installed.
