Although it has yet to be officially confirmed that the Sauber Petronas squad will be running with 2004 spec Ferrari engines next season, it is now also come to light that the Swiss based squad will also use gearboxes from the Italian giants as well.

Autosport has confirmed that the Sauber will have both engines and gearboxes from Ferrari in their new C23, however while the engines are 2004 spec, thanks to the new engine rules, they will actually be a grade lower than the ones used in the scarlet machines of Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello.

Sauber are still to confirm their 2003 driver line-up, however it is thought that it will consist of Giancarlo Fisichella and Felipe Massa, with official confirmation coming in the near future.
