The Panasonic Toyota Team wants F1 runner-up Kimi Raikkonen in their team for the 2007 season reported the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag yesterday. Team boss Tsutomo Tomita proposed a five-year 100 million deal to Raikkonen according to the newspaper.

The Finn is still under contract with McLaren Mercedes through 2006. But with McLaren's recent surprise signing of 2005 world champion Fernando Alonso for the 2007 season, speculation that Raikkonen would leave the team for Scuderia Ferrari has continued to circulate.

With more than 400 million euros, the Cologne-based Toyota team has the largest budget in Formula 1.
