The AT&T Williams team is pleased to announce that it will run a 2010 Williams Cosworth FW32 race car in Venezuela on Friday 14 January. The event will be staged to mark Venezuelan-born Pastor Maldonado’s recent confirmation as an AT&T Williams race driver for the 2011 season.

The demonstration will be held just outside of Caracas around one of the country’s most renowned national monuments, Los Proceres, in front of an anticipated capacity crowd. President Chavez is also expected to attend the show.

Looking ahead to the demonstration run, Pastor Maldonado commented, “I’m so happy the team are coming to Venezuela. To be given the opportunity of driving a Formula One car in front of my fellow countrymen is going to be something very special. We will definitely put on a good show for everyone who attends. Now that I am a confirmed race driver for AT&T Williams, this feels like giving something back to the people who have supported my career and put their faith in me over the years.”

Team Principal of the AT&T Williams team, Frank Williams said, “Away from the race track, we have demonstrated our cars in many prestigious locations around the world. It is always a pleasure to do so, and a privilege to share with the public the sheer power of a Formula One car. We are therefore delighted that Pastor has invited us to Venezuela, and for him to be driving our car in his home country.”
