Set-up to blame for Lotus struggle at Singapore

Looking back on the Singapore GP, the Lotus F1 Team believes that problems with setting the car up correctly resulted in a generally difficult weekend for the team. 6th and 7th places at the finish line were not what the team hoped for beforehand.

Lotus started the weekend at Singapore with an uphill battle, as both drivers have considerable problems finding grip. With that lack of grip, both also struggled to get the Pirelli tyres up to temperature, further reducing the performance potential.

Saturday started better as the team reverted to a previously successful car set-up, but as temperatures dropped, the tyre warm-up problems returned when it mattered most, at the end of qualifying.

The team also saw positives however: "While never matching the pace of the front runners, the car once again demonstrated its versatility in being able to push for points despite starting the weekend off on the back foot."

Keeping in mind that in the end, some solid points were still added to the team's tally, there is much to look forward to for Lotus, as Suzuka is destined to suit the car a little better.
