Todt on Schumacher’s condition

Jean Todt has paid a visit to his close friend Michael Schumacher recently. The Frenchman who is in charge of governing the FIA, disclosed the great German was on course to have a “relatively normal life.”

The seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher has suffered serious injuries on the 29 December 2013. The record champion fell into a coma, had to be on life support, then awoke from his coma in early summer. In September he was then transferred to his home which is located near the Lake Geneva.

The family is desperate to protect Michael’s privacy and don’t intend to inform the world about his actual state of health. Jean Todt, however, admitted that he has seen Michael in a better form during his last visit.

“He has made steps forwards over the course of the last weeks and months, but there is still a long way to go. He needs time and rest. You can only hope that things get better.”

While everyone is keen to know which could be the absolute limit and aim in Michael’s recovery, Todt refused to give a clear answer.

“You can only hope for that. He won’t be able to drive in Formula 1, that is for sure.”
