Bottas unveils fan-designed helmet for 2018

Valtteri Bottas has unveiled his new helmet design for 2018. He picked his preferred design from a number of submissions made by fans in a design competition that was launched by his Mercedes AMG F1 Team.

A similar competition during the build-up to last season gave fans the opportunity to create a design for Lewis Hamilton and following on from that success Mercedes has started a new contest for the British driver’s team-mate.

The winning helmet was designed by Andy Werner, who as well as getting to see Bottas wear his work this season will win a signed replica of the helmet.

Bottas is gearing up for his second season with Mercedes having joined as an 11th hour replacement for the retiring Nico Rosberg at the start of 2017. Bottas clinched three race wins and four pole positions last season on his way to third place in the F1 drivers’ world championship.
