Four-time F1 world champion Max Verstappen has announced that he and his girlfriend, Brazilian model Kelly Piquet, welcomed their first child together.

Max Verstappen and three-time F1 champion Nelson Piquet's daughter, Kelly Piquet announced their pregnancy news in December. However, the couple did not reveal the expected date of the birth.

The Hasselt-born driver has been with Kelly Piquet since 2020, who also has a daughter, Penelope, with Russian racing driver Daniil Kyvat.

Ahead of this weekend's Miami Grand Prix, Red Bull confirmed that Verstappen would skip the media, revealing that Verstappen would be absent as Kelly had been preparing to give birth.

However, Verstappen returned to the paddock on the first day of the Miami Grand Prix, and Red Bull confirmed that the four-time F1 champion would complete the competitive part of the race weekend in Florida.

Ahead of the sole practice session in Miami, the 27-year-old driver posted two photos of his baby daughter, Lily, revealing her name in the Instagram caption.

“Welcome to the world, sweet Lily,” he wrote. “Our hearts are fuller than ever — you are our greatest gift. We love you so much.”

The first photo contained a bundled-up Lily grabbing someone's finger, while the second showed Piquet, holding Lily with Verstappen's arm around both of them, smiling down at his daughter.

Verstappen’s younger sister, Victoria Verstappen is raising three young children, boys Lio (born in 2021) and Luka (born in 2020) as well as baby girl Hailey, born in June 2024 with her partner, Tom Heuts.
