Having secured his first home victory at last Sunday's British Grand Prix, McLaren driver Lando Norris has now joined the club of drivers who have achieved eight wins in their career.

McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris started from P2 and P3 on the grid at Sunday's British Grand Prix. Starting in the wet, the Australian managed to extract more grip from his inters than race-leader Verstappen could and picked off the Dutchman for the lead.

The Melbourne-born driver managed to build up an enormous lead of over 13 seconds over Verstappen and Norris. However, a safety car period meant that the championship leader lost his comfortable lead.

At the second Safety Car restart, Piastri braked heavily, and Verstappen shot past him. The stewards rules that the Australian had not followed procedure and handed him a 10-second time penalty. Just moments after this incident, Verstappen had spun at the exit of Stowe and dropped back.

It left Piastri and Norris at the front of the field, and they managed to build a huge advantage over the field. When the papaya cars pitted for slick tyres, Norris emerged ahead after Piastri served his penalty. That left the Brit to enjoy the last few laps before crossing the line to win his home race for the first time.

His latest victory saw Norris join the club of drivers who have achieved eight wins in their career. This group of drivers includes Charles Leclerc, Daniel Ricciardo, Denny Hulme and Jacky Ickx.

As for Norris, he achieved his maiden podium finish and fastest lap at the season-opening Austrian Grand Prix in 2020, before achieving his maiden pole position at the Russian Grand Prix in 2021.

Following another podium at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in 2022, he took seven across his 2023 campaign. In 2024, Norris achieved his maiden win at the Miami Grand Prix, repeating this feat three times as he finished runner-up to Max Verstappen in the World Drivers' Championship.

So far in 2025, Norris has taken four victories, including his home Grand Prix in Britain which helped him to close in on his team-mate Oscar Piastri in the drivers' standings, with only eight points separating them currently.

As of the 2025 British Grand Prix, Norris has achieved eight race wins, 12 pole positions, 17 fastest laps, and 36 podiums in Formula One. Norris is contracted to remain at McLaren until at least the end of the 2027 season.
