The European Grand Prix is the second time Robert Kubica will be underway for the BMW Sauber F1 Team on European soil. The test and replacement driver is counting on the versatility of the BMW Sauber F1.06 during the team's home match at Germany's Nürburgring.

The Nürburgring is no unknown terrain for Robert. Although he will only be hitting the track of a European racing circuit for the second time behind the wheel of the BMW Sauber F1.06, he has already been able to collect valuable experience in the 'Green Hell'. "I know the Nürburgring," Robert Kubica says, "especially the GP version, although I have driven some laps on the Nordschleife."

The circuit did not, however, make the best impression. "I don't really like the track that much, but there are some nice parts, particularly the quick corners" In order to be successful there, Robert trusts in the versatility of the BMW Sauber F1.06. "It's important to have a car that is very good overall - in the quick corners, the slow corners and the chicanes. The Nürburgring demands that kind of versatility."

The Polish driver is additionally hoping that the home advantage will work in favour of the BMW Sauber F1 Team. "It should be a good weekend, especially as it is the first Grand Prix of the year in Germany. It's good for the team to be racing in BMW's home country."
