Michael not only Schumacher aiming for Monza win

Ralf Schumacher hopes to score his and Toyota's second podium finish of the year at Monza this weekend, following the relentless development of its Bridgestone-shod TF106. The team introduced a new floor and front wing at the last race in Turkey, where Ralf finished seventh, and there will be further updates on the car at Monza.

"We've proved in the last few races that we're quick, with podium potential," says Ralf Schumacher. "I think we did a great job to come away from Turkey with some points, given everything that happened with the engine change and getting caught up in the accident at Turn 1, so I think we should be strong at Monza too."

Toyota still hopes to win a race before the end of the year, although Ralf is being more modest in his expectations.

"Our tyre partner Bridgestone is working exceptionally well," he says, "but F1 is a difficult business and you cannot start from scratch and win overnight. I think we're well aware of that and highly motivated to keep moving forward."

The team currently lies fifth in the Constructors' Championship, and Ralf is 10th in the drivers' standings. For the record, he thinks his brother Michael will notch up an eighth world championship this year.

"If Michael and Ferrari have an advantage in the remaining races," he says, "I can certainly see him winning the championship, and I actually think he will."
