Monaco tactically interesting - Vettel

Although Sebastian Vettel was racing himself on the past weekend, he had enough time to follow the fifth race of the 2007 Formula One World Championship. The test driver of the BMW Sauber F1 Team looks back on the Monaco GP.

"Both BMW cars pitted only once," comments Sebastian Vettel on the tactics of the BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica. "Considering their grid positions and the fact that they were caught up in traffic at the beginning, I think they showed quite a good performance. Particularly to cross the finish line with both cars means good points for the World Championship."

The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the races which are full of surprises, and traditionally the track makes for many race incidents and accidents. This year, however, the spectators did not witness many spectacular moments. The race was dominated by strategic thinking. "The race was not particularly entertaining," confirms the German driver. "Obviously, we know that overtaking is very difficult in Monaco. However, I think it was interesting to watch in terms of race tactics."

The Formula One World Championship continues in Canada on 10th June. According to Sebastian, the "Circuit Gilles Villeneuve" is a track on which suits Nick and Robert. "I have never been there but it should be a good track, which we are able to perform on well," says Sebastian. "Therefore, we are looking forward to it."
