First test for Webber without driver aids

By on

First day of a session that is due to run for four days rather than the usual three. This was Mark Webber's first test since the end of the season as, last time Red Bull Racing was in action in Barcelona, he was busy getting ready to cycle up mountains and canoe down rivers on his charitable challenge in Tasmania. That meant Webber got his first taste of driving with 2008 electronics and no driver aids.

Most of the day was spent working on set-up items for next season. Worth noting that the two drivers who topped today's time sheets were running on Bridgestone's 2009 specification slick tyres. Great to see real racing tyres back in an F1 paddock!

Tomorrow, we run two cars, as David Coulthard joins his team-mate on track.
