Schumi hopes to win at Nürburgring

Michael Schumacher has reconfirmed he will try to win yet another race. His scarlet team started another day of testing at Fiorano to turn their luck with the Bridgestone tires. Luca Badoer took the Ferrari for a 79 laps-during drive while the other teams had agreed not to test in the last week before a Grand Prix.

Michael Schumacher hopes to win the European Grand Prix. Schumi remains optimistic despite Ferraris abominable start of the season (only 21 points in 6 GP's). The team had some bad luck, but Ferraris wonderboy is certain that his team will do better this weekend.

"We haven't really had much luck lately, and so our very good race-pace never really paid off," he explained. "Maybe that will change at the Nürburgring. The best thing we found out at Monaco was surely that we were absolutely competitive during the race. When I took to the track with a full load of fuel behind Kimi I was able to keep up with him, and that's more than solid proof that we are right up there on top of things during races. So our chances of being among the leading cars are definitely there, and therefore I will continue to be optimistic."

The European Grand Prix takes place in Germany, more specifically in his home Eiffel region. Thousands of fans will be present but it remains to be seen if that will be enough.

Kimi Raïkkonen, who won the last 2 races, has lots of confidence in his car and is certain that he will come over the finishingline first. Of course there are plenty of other candidates to stand on the highest scaffold at Nürburgring.

Fernando Alonso wants to make up for his 4th place at Monaco, Fisichella is also very keen on a victory in Germany after his 12th place last weekend.
On the other hand there is the return of B.A.R who will battle with a new package. The BMW Williams drivers on their hand are looking for a confirmation of their brilliant accomplishment in the principality.

Time will tell. But a lot will depend on the change the FIA made earlier this week which includes the revert to a one hour qualifying format on the Saturday before the race.
