Youngster Sebastian Vettel, who starts his first full F1 season, is highly ranked by the Scuderia Ferrari. According to the German magazine 'Sport Bild', Ferrari is interested in Vettel as reserve driver at Grands Prix.

Vettel, who is driving for the Ferrari-powered Toro Rosso team, would have to fill in for Kimi Raikkonen or Felipe Massa in case one of them is injured. This would mean that Toro Rosso would have to use a reserve driver as well.

Sebastian, who will start from 9th position on the Australian grid tomorrow, isn't only in the good books of Ferrari but also of the BMW Sauber F1 Team. In 2006 and 2007, Vettel conducted test work for the BMW Sauber F1 Team as test and reserve driver. During the 2007 US Grand Prix, the German had to replace Robert Kubica and immediately scored a championship point.

According to the magazine, the Toro Rosso contract of Vettel contains a clause which makes it possible that the young talent rejoins BMW in 2010.
