Horner supports expansion F1 calendar under certain conditions

Red Bull Racing’s Christian Horner was one of the team principals involved in a Q&A session at the Motor Sport Business Forum Middle East in Bahrain. Along with debates on new F1 regulations and energy recovery systems, the main topic under discussion was the number of races held each year.

Just like Ron Dennis and Nick Fry, Christian Horner supports the idea of expanding the F1 calendar as long as certain conditions are met.

Horner said: “It is important to retain the historic races of significance, but also embrace new markets and new circuits. There are more venues than there are places on the calendar and 20 races could be feasible providing there were further restrictions on testing and not too many back-to-backs.”
