Set-up work for Heidfeld at Barcelona

Again Nick Heidfeld concentrated on setup work related to next week’s Spanish round of the World Championship. The team tried different aerodynamical and mechanical options making good progress with the development of the BMW Sauber F1.08. Another focus of today’s work was tyre testing, again in preparation for the upcoming Grand Prix.

Like yesterday several teams again tested their cars with the 2009 slick tyres, resulting in significantly better lap times. BMW Sauber F1 Team sticked to 2008 specifications during the entire session. With Heidfeld concluding a total of 203 laps (945 kms) in the last two days the car ran according to the team’s test schedule without noteworthy problems, giving the engineers the opportunity to collect valuable data.

What comes next:
From tomorrow on Robert Kubica will be on duty. BMW Sauber F1 Team will be testing for two more days in Barcelona.
