Jarno Trulli blames Toyota

Jarno Trulli has lashed out at Toyota's racing tactics at Spa. He is blaming his team for him not finishing the Belgian Grand Prix on the podium. Jarno felt his car was really good in Belgium and was right behind Alonso before the safety car situation. He believes it would have been an easy podium finish with the right tyres on.

Trulli had been running near the front of the pack when on lap 11, the Safety Car was deployed, which sent the majority of the drivers into the pits for fuel. Some teams opted to swap from intermediates to slick tyres even though the track was still damp in many places. Toyota was one of them, changing Trulli's tyres in his first pitstop.

Jarno Trulli "The team's decision to put on slicks at the first stop was a colossal absurdity. With them, I could not even keep behind the Safety Car. I was fourth, in Alonso's slipstream, and I lost a load of time and after that it was impossible to recover. The team robbed me of a podium because the car was going really well on this track. I would have been on the podium, taking into account (Juan Pablo) Montoya's retirement."

Jarno however did not finish the race as with only 5 laps to go he hit Tiago Monteiro in the rear because the Jordan driver had mistakenly pushed his speed limiter button.
