Ralf talks about Spa

After Trulli's attack on the Toyota team, Ralf Schumacher has gone on record to say that Spa should have been Toyota's break. The German was chasing leader Juan Pablo Montoya before his ill-fated second stop.

Ralf Schumacher would rejoin the track on slick tyres on what was a damp track. This lead to the Toyota driver spinning off and making a 3rd stop straight after to return to intermediates. This costed Ralf a lot of time and a possible victory.

Ralf Schumacher "If things had gone our way, a win was possible. We were very competitive in the race and we went for dry tyres early, at my second pitstop. These things are very close calls and if the tactic had worked we could even have had a decisive advantage over the McLarens."

There was also some good news for Toyota last weekend at Spa-Francorchamps. After changing to slicks in the remaining laps, Ralf was able to set the fastest lap and collect just a handful of points, proving that Toyota still had a quick car whatever the circumstances.

"I stopped again for dry tyres with four laps to go so, altogether, I had four pit stops. To finish seventh and still score points just goes to show how strong we were."
