It's being claimed that Williams F1, BAR and Jenson Button have agreed terms which will see the English driver remain at Brackley in 2006. Button arrived at BAR in 2003 and signed a contract to race for Williams from 2006.

Williams has since lost its engine supplier BMW, while B.A.R has generally improved. Knowing this Button decided against returning to Williams and decided he would try and buy himself of out of the contract.

Button will be joined in 2006 by Rubens Barrichello. Takuma Sato has to find himself a new team or remain at BAR as a test driver. The may be place for the Japanese as a test driver as B.A.R's current test driver Anthony Davidson is linked with Midland for next season.
