It’s a shame this had to happen. Must be the bumpy track around Interlagos causing this. Not sure what RW Bottas is running today, but Max’s RW was just dancing when the DRS was open. Just hope we won’t see RW failures today and tomorrow

It dances yes and it is clearly bending the rules, but crucially, it must have passed the 1 kg force test. Clearly RedBull has mastered the composite lay-ups and seems to have sufficient knowledge of Mercedes materials and the limits of deflection of those materials, be it temperature altitude, age etc. Genius move by Adrian to say the least.

Oh look, it wasn’t intentional after all, what a surprise. What shall the tin foil hats cook up next?

Championship over then, as expected.
I believe the teams are well aware of things like this, just let it wear down until the risk (of failure) becomes greater than the reward. They wouldn't use part that has play in them if they saw any harm in it.
Not cheating like I first implied but exploring gray areas, which is fine IMO.

Wait how did Bottas not be DSQ’ed when both Mercs were running the same rear wing? Was it because RB filed in a protest towards car #44?
It was simply a faulty part. The document reads like it is wear on the pivots. Maybe they use wings for more events than previously due to the budget cap.
Yes, had a read of the documents and noticed it’s a faulty part. Shame :(
Maybe Mercedes would’ve noticed these faulty parts themselves had they had more than just 1 hour of running prior to qualifying. The sprint weekend format could’ve work against them with this

Maybe. Maybe not. But they didn't.

I wonder if Hamilton will now get a completely new PU (all components) since he is likely to start towards the back of the grid anyway (main race)
Not allowed, he can only take 1 unit per race weekend.

Is this for this race or has Mercedes been doing this for a while now? Anyways Hamilton had 6km/hr over Bottas, that is huge. How much is that worth? 2 Tenths? 1 tenth? 2.5 Tenths? 3 Tenths? Would vary from track to track but it is a difference & one of the reason why Lewis is above Bottas & Verstappen by a huge margin.

Verstappen has lost a lot - Baku Tyre failure, Hamilton taking him out in Britain, Agent Bottas in Hungary. This will partially compensate for all that. This is a championship where Verstappen has been far superior & should have had a 60-70 point lead & he should have clinched the Championship in Brazil. Norris, Leclerc, Sainz have all been better than Hamilton this season & to some extent Gasly as well !

Incredible that Mercedes/Hamilton tried to blame Verstappen for it - And amazing that Bottas literally has an inferior car - 2 Tenths+ slower & not the illegal rear wing car (if Mercedes thought it was legal) -

Total cheat act by Mercedes running an illegal Rear Wing intentionally when they got RB's then legal flexi rear wing banned by cribbing & by getting new tests introduced mid-season. No such thing was done for DAS. Anyways, really horrible act.

Bottas is Hamilton's Rubens Barrichello & that is Lewis kept cribbing about Bottas' being his best team-mate when he got beaten or drew with Rosberg, Button & Alonso (Because he knew Bottas was his toy !)
I am no Merc fan but you answered your own question in the first two sentences. Find another race Lewis has had such a hugh advantage over Bottas in a DRS zone, I doubt there is one.

Look ! It's mercedes conspiring with the FIA again to circumvent a penalty !

You realise that is checked every weekend right? Several times?
So you'd never get such a basic 'cheat' through a test and into a race. Ergo it wasn't a 'total cheat act' at all #-o

At least reign the bias and rose tinted specs in a little...

Were Mercedes caught cheating?

Well that ruins the race but the rules are the rules.

That is a blow to Lewis title chance but who knows how things will still go, all we need is a Max DNF and the game is back on. Lewis will be on fire for the rest of the season now with no more mr nice guy in wheel to wheel battles
Don’t “WE” pretty please.
