Blimey, will it even be cured? I imagine they have to use some special stuff out there because of the heat. But surely that's way too recent...

Asphalt is ready to use in 72 hours, for normal traffic. I'm betting additives can make it ready for race usage in a week or two.

Looks awesome. The asphalt will have had three weeks to cure by race day. More than enough time.

I'm really looking forward to this track. If you read my first in the thread you will see my expectations are quite high.

I think it must. Possibly by a margin. If I recall correctly. Silverstone, Sochi, Singapore and Baku are probably up there as well?

Singapore is 23 corners and Jeddah is 27, Abu Dhabi is 21, Baku and COTA 20, Sochi and Silverstone are 18.

3 DRS zones is going to be fun.

Especially with detection zones 2 and 3 being almost right at the end of the previous DRS zones. If cars can follow close enough through the corner(s) between them there could be lots of opportunity for some exciting racing.

I don’t think that I’ve ever heard of DRS overtakes being called exciting!!?

The thing that the DRS zones may make exciting is that it could be very hard to pull away. I see there being a lot of overtaking and re-overtaking

So you didn't find the last few laps in Bahrain this year exciting? Or the battle between Lewis and Max at Interlagos exciting? Because without DRS none of this would have happened at all.

They can't, remember Turkey last year? It was a huge issue, many of the drivers really disliked it, particularly Verstappen.

they can high pressure water blast the surface if it is cured, for every 10k (700 bar) water temp rises 30f above the water source. 40k (2800 bar) would be used as it would be 120f above the ambient source melting the oils and scarifying the surface.....
