Idk if it's drag or the Honda engine but the RB doesn't pull hard enough anymore. They're losing out like 5 kph vs the Mercedes engined cars with DRS closed. Was an issue in SA as well.

I have only seen the deficit in races, in qualy the Honda engine does keep up but yeah, I do think the Merc is the better engine now. We'll see if the trend of the Honda PU not reaching peak performance in race holds up here, 2 long straights should give us good insights.

Its only practice and if you havent notice they are no pu developments ,redbull does not have good traction even the alpine is better at that.some teams are benefiting from using flexy wings fia should have clamped on them hard from the beginning of season

With DRS RB is still competitive, so it's mitigated to some extent on quali runs. They still lose time before DRS can be opened, that's clear to see on the S2 straight in the telemetry.

We don't know the fuel load. Track was cooling. His run was later than the others. There are many factors in it.

Only other week McLaren was a second ahead in free practice and look how that turned out.

This chart is not reliable. Red Bull does not have a higher non-DRS speed than Mclaren with that rear wing. The editor often uses bad data points or data points that lack context of engine modes, slips streams, and so on.

I think he also said recently something like adding 2 tenths of lap time is basically like adding one to two hundredths every corner over a roughly 15 to 20 corner track. I guess this upgrade can give them that.
