Quite embarrassing. I would take the extra WT time though.

Either way, this circuit is not fit for F1 and it needs to be put out to pasture.

Legacy and history can go away as far as I'm concerned. Either they make it a non-championship race, or they get rid of it.
They have two options really:
1) Remove it from the calendar/make it rotational.
2) Reduce the car’s size. (They did, but I don’t think it will be enough.
I have a better option: make it a two-sprint weekend first one 12 second one 15 points.
Friday: FP1, Quali1,
Saturday: Sprint 1 (~30 laps no pitstop), Quali2
Sunday Sprint 2 (~40 laps, one pitstop)

Not bad. Or a full race with zero pitstops. It would be so funny.

These Barcelona upgrades basically are do or die for Mercedes. Many F1 “Aero minds w/ no F1 exp or w/e they are” in twitter have written them off by saying that they are cooked. I slightly agree unless these updates work. Merc in GE era are a mixed bag when upgrading so I will lower my expectations to zero.

Man I knew this weekend was going to be a struggle, but I never would've imagined it would be anywhere near this bad.

It could be a disaster from the strategist, or it could've been a compromised race because of quali yesterday, it could've simply been bad luck?

Whatever the cause, I don't know what Mercedes did for them to have these results in back-to-back weekends and just flat out cursed them.

Toto just said that they forgot that the race was a mandatory two stopper…WHAT THE HELL?
Edit: I don’t know if this is true, but it’s been circulating in x. I hope it’s not true.

I think the cause is pretty obvious. Can't qualify P14-15 and expect good results in Monaco.

uhh... oh god, it looks like it's true or is it a cop out because of how massively they were caught out waiting for something significant?

Either way that is not what you are suppose to say, that is just embarrassing! Honestly, this season looks wrapped up for Merc.

I guess that's what having 2 good drivers and building a car that 2 drivers can drive confidently looks like! But I would love to see McLaren having a dominant car for the whole season. Would be good for F1 to see different teams building dominant cars, different years.
