That long run from Lando in FP2 with mediums is f***ng monstrous. Absolutely no degradation whatsoever, while others suffered degradation.

Not that much different from the Mercedes, they were the only other team who were consistently in the 1:09's

Antonelli's lap times dropped a bit in the end, but yeah, in general a good run from Mercedes again indeed.

Is Lawson's pace real?

Is Mercedes being flattered by the somewhat cloudy conditions? The problem with their overheating rears definitely isn't fully gone yet.

No, Russell was more than likely doing extreme stress testing to see how the tyres operated because Mercedes wanted to see if the new rear suspension was operating well with the tyres. Seems like the pace wasn’t too far off from Verstappen initially, and then fell off after which is to be expected.

So Antonelli was the one that was representable and he wasn’t that far off the McLarens.

There have been times in the past when he was paired with Perez, that Perez had speed over him when the car was more to Sergio's liking then it was to Max's. So who's to say that its not a certain trait in the RB that allows Max to be so fast, that another car may not necessarily have?
Because Max has been mega fast in every iteration of car he's driven. He's not just magically lucking into all these different cars across teams and regulations that happen to suit him so spectacularly. Max is also not 'liking' the current Red Bull either, or last year's. He complains about it plenty, and was even vocally against replacing Perez because he knew that the car was the problem, not the driver necessarily. He's clearly just way better at dealing with a difficult machine than others.

And Perez only very rarely actually had any speed over Max, and it was almost always limited to like a specific session. It would never last beyond that rare weekend. Which is nothing unusual at all for any top tier driver. Most every driver at the F1 level will have their days where everything comes together and they have the kind of form to compete with the very best. The main thing that separates the true greats from others is simply the sheer consistency that they can perform at that level. Max has proven he's that kind of driver.

comparing the fuel runs between Norris/Russel/Verstappen,
- Redbull and McLaren hiding pace (they didn't even go to 8th gear in the straights)
- Mercedes are hiding lesser
- McLaren is class of the field through T6-T7 (advantage atleast 0.2s) and unchallenged
- Mercedes struggling through T4 and T9-T10 massively, compared to the other two.
- If the teams maintain the same wing levels for Q and R, then Redbull is going to blitz with straightline speed, and suffer tremendously with deg.

This looks like McLaren and Max are going to run away as a triplet from the front, and if the Redbull suffers it's usual tyre deg, Max will have to defend against the likes of Russel/Antonelli/LeClerc, for which, the straightline speed will help. The way it looks now, I can't see both McLarens away from the podium, no matter what grid slot they start from.

Have they removed the option to replay live timing from a session? I can't find it on the app, just a slow 're-live fp1 thing'

it's now hidden under "Schedule". After clicking on the event there, you can replay the sessions.

Wonder if we will see another RBR extra pit stop and drive flat out rather than trying to play the deg game.
It almost worked a couple races ago
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.

My thoughts also.
Could well see Max on pole then driving flat out doing a 3 stopper. There’s more chance of it working if he’s on pole and leading the opening stint
