I was hoping this but not even

What an embarrassing slow pace it’s a real nightmare

They bolted on the older spec for FP2. Seems like the issue with the Merc is the internal cooling.OverheatedTurbo wrote: ↑29 Jun 2025, 16:12Didn’t they had a new engine cover for this?
But if they don’t, they may carry over this problem to next year’s car. The suspension design will be similar to these year cars no? It was much worse here than in Imola…we weren’t 30+ seconds down to Ferrari. The car’s current weakness is tracks with all corner profiles (Slow, med and high speed), abrassive tarmac and temps. Surely, this isn’t a aero issue, correct?Tonino wrote: ↑29 Jun 2025, 17:14This was essentially a copy-and-paste of the Imola race. An abrasive track combined with high temperatures, and our car simply has no pace. Nothing surprising there; those are inherent flaws somewhere in the car. It would be foolish to keep updating it in an attempt to fix this issue.
Please move on and focus on next year. I don't want to see any more updates coming to this car after Silverstone.
Honestly, I have no idea what the exact problem is. But based on statements from both Toto and George, it’s clear the issue is the combination of an abrasive track and high temperatures. I just read an interview Krone did with Toto today, and he basically confirms that we've already shifted focus to next year’s car — so whatever the issue is, it won't be fixed on this year’s car.OverheatedTurbo wrote: ↑29 Jun 2025, 17:31But if they don’t, they may carry over this problem to next year’s car. In Styria, the Mercedes team boss revealed that his team is no longer developing the current car. "Most of the top teams are already 100 percent focused on next year. There will be upgrades before the summer and specifically for Monza, but I would be surprised if there is more to come," he said. Only a small group of Mercedes employees, known as the “Navy Seals”, are still working on the optimal implementation in the current season.

Its so strange, Ferrari was suffering with the SF-23 with the tyres and fixed it for the SF-24. They had an AHA moment that season. We haven’t been able to get on top of it for 2 straight seasons.Tonino wrote: ↑29 Jun 2025, 19:25Honestly, I have no idea what the exact problem is.
