Overheatedturbo is really not happy.

I for one have given up, this season, predictions, hoping, maybe even this team… idk.

Merc is slow at Silverstone? Nope, can’t do this anymore.

I’m expecting a tough rest of the weekend.
I am not. Apologies to everyone here on the Merc forum. It’s just that it baffles me that they can’t get to grips with this tyre/front/rear axle overheating at this stage of the regs. They are missing some expertise that they may have lost over the years in that area. Toto needs to recruit more technical personnel for that area of the car. They risk of bringing that issue to the W17.

But with the Red flag nor GR and Kimi couldn’t do a fast lap no?

(Neither Sir LH but that is OT)

Sorry for the question I don’t have access to F1 TV today

Mercedes excluded due to lap times posted earlier in session, for what it's worth I think they are about 2-3 tenths off at most

Really the car is extremely sensitive to any significant temperature change, and only works on certain types of tracks when it’s low traction and power sensitive, that displays a major flaw in the aerodynamic department and also the mechanical department because of how numb it feels in the highspeed which I don’t know why?

The Ground Effect era was a massive failure both in itself and for Mercedes. No matter what they tried, it just doesn’t work.

Worth noting when the fastest laps came towards the end, both Mercs were in the garage. George had his first lap interrupted by a red flag although he locked in T3, as he did on his final attempt which also was going to be stopped by a red.

The car probably is a bit closer but I don't expect anything other than P5 at most still.

Hopefully the race pace improves tomorrow over Friday.

The interesting point to me from a sportsmanship point of view.... according to speculation, Verstappen's performance clause is he must finish 3rd or higher? Otherwise he has a contract exit opportunity?

Max is currently 3rd place. George is currently 4th....

Should George try to beat Max in the drivers championship to the summer break? If George pushes and beat's Max, then that would mean Max could be a free agent and there is an opportunity to take George's seat!

Should George not push, and have some terrible results, in order to make his seat more difficult for Max? ....

What a conundrum to be in.....
It’s Max vs Rus vs Leclerc for 3rd in WDC.

Looking at the current car & driver performance, Leclerc is likely to get that 3rd. But it’s F1 anything can happen.

Merc-Russell struggle with Race Pace (Tyre Deg)
RB-Max struggle with the Car
Ferrari-Leclerc struggle with performance of the Car in Quali.
Looks like Leclerc is going to drop another one to his 40 year old teammate. Who were the ppl saying he was beating hamilton by a larger margin than George again ?

Points are given on Saturday? When does that start happening?

Let's talk tomorrow.

P4 for GEORGE. Man, he’s such a DAWG. I hope we have some race pace since the car was DOG WATER on cold conditions.

Honestly, anyone from the McLarens, the Ferraris and Max could have finished on pole. All except one in that list made mistakes in their laps.
However, what I didn't expect was Russel to emerge P4. That was spectacular. It should hurt the ego of both HAM and LEC, that they are starting behind RUS, purely from their own mistakes (they only managed to match their Q2 laptimes in Q3)

George thrives in Qualy. To me, he is the best at it from the grid. Shame for LH/CL, they had the car for pole, but they bottled it. They got a car to challenge the front and move up, so I expect George to drop to P6.
