You in particular have implied on many occasions that the car was being held back exclusively by the engine/PU, and that Honda was to blame for the lack of performance.

Once the vibration issues were resolved in Miami and the power was turned up, the max output (most relevant to Qualifying) of Honda, along with Audi, wasn't far off of Ferrari. Ferrari, Audi, and Honda are believed to be closer in max output than RBPT/Red Bull Ford are to Mercedes.
The Aston + Honda combo does seem to have a regen shortcoming that impacts them over race distance (along with tyre wear, etc.) but hopefully the upcoming gearbox revisions can help with that.
