Re: 2026 Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team

The "4th best chassis" on the grid at the least engine-dependent circuit is dead last. Meanwhile, a new team's car almost made it to Q2.

One question I leave here: How long will it take for people to admit that Newey and company completely screwed up with this car, whose problems go beyond the Honda PU, or are we going to blame everything on Honda because it's impossible for the "aerodynamics wizard" to design a bad car?

Scrap it and try again guys for 2027 so when you show up for preseason you might be able to run laps and collect data, unlike this year.
They basically doing this now and they will try again after the summer break. There, if they dont jump to the midfield, they will need close the doors and sell the company.
BYD sniffing around in person this weekend…. Perhaps a buyer for Stroll Sr to get himself out of this mess. Especially if Lance has also had enough and would rather enjoy the yachting and weather on the Riveria! 😂😂

They have a premature car that has always been behind schedule, they've been saying this since last year. Obviously, they didnt expect to be this bad, but the biggest concern will be after the summer. If it's not substantially better with the Spec B and ADUO versions in the second half of the season, the whole team will have failed. This car seems like just a stopgap until Newey manages to ajust the wind tunnel and design something truly decent. The second half of the season will be key
This. People have the memory of a goldfish and are trying to compare this car to the rest of the teams that have brought large upgrade packages since the start of the season.
Thats a deflection aston martin fans have been saying the car is great but now its about missing upgrade.these is the one track-were greatness should have been demonstrated but it has fallen flat
dude there hasnt been a single person in these forums saying that they knew this was a good chassis. because nobody has had any chance to make that assumption. every post has to be trying to convince people whos fault it is. theres blame on everybody, its obvious. everybody needs to stop trying to act like its 2 different teams at play here.

You in particular have implied on many occasions that the car was being held back exclusively by the engine/PU, and that Honda was to blame for the lack of performance. <personal stuff removed>

Once the vibration issues were resolved in Miami and the power was turned up, the max output (most relevant to Qualifying) of Honda, along with Audi, wasn't far off of Ferrari. Ferrari, Audi, and Honda are believed to be closer in max output than RBPT/Red Bull Ford are to Mercedes.
The Aston + Honda combo does seem to have a regen shortcoming that impacts them over race distance (along with tyre wear, etc.) but hopefully the upcoming gearbox revisions can help with that.

I hope so, but probably not… 2026 is a complete write-off in all aspects. Plus Newey having been sick from stress tells you how bad things internally at Aston are.
You know something about Newey's sickness? Where did you read that it was stress related?
it was being reported a lot last week that he had a stress related illness. there was no verifications from the team of course. kinda makes a lot of sense though.

supposedly horner has been connected to them in heading up their f1 program if/when it happens. they were rumored to be looking at alpine. but i think its just people guessing at the most likely team to want to ditch.

If you watch the video around here. Someone took the time to find sections of track where all teams where out of battery. It shows that the Honda ICE is down 10KPH to everyone else.

They are miles away on power from Audi and Ferrari. Because of the deployment rules in Monaco the ICE deficit is exposed even more clearly. The telemetry is unlike anything I’ve seen on this track, 50+ HP to the nearest rival no doubt.

I think they should change the name of the company aston martin bcoz this name have some ghost effect in stock market they plunged, they are struggling with car sales, and after re-entry into f1 they are continuously struggling even Vijay mallya had better laugh then stroll after pumping so much of money with no gain clearly so show they have people with no brain

forget WCC and WDC till next rule change. I would suggest Alonso to look for other team or just retire. It is very difficult to turn the current situation to winning position.

So when LeClerc crashes in the same corner as Stroll, Stroll is at fault for his crash along with LeClerc's? Do you know how silly that sounds?

The track is dangerous through that corner with pieces of asphalt getting stuck on tyres.

I hope the car comes home in one piece with Perez lurking. He loses his mind at this track.
