Red Bull RB22

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Usually Redbull are the ones to have large cooling exits, due to the air-to-air IC that they have traditionally had, since.... since forever. Comparing with SF26, the RB22 had much tighter engine cover and gills for a hot Austria track. Surprised.

This could be related to the mysterious thing that the employee was referring to, that "would blow people's mind" (if they knew).
Possibly Red Bull came up with some major internal cooling update.

Isn't cooling architecture/components (excluding piping/routing/packaging) part of the 'PU system' that is locked unless released by ADUO ? What do the rules say ?

On another note, here is a good picture (Carpentiers) showing the side-by-side comparison of the sidepod inlet modification. Now it's looking very close to the Mercedes' inlet :

Can also see how the front wheel rim design is changed as well.

I don't think so. Red bull has had very tight cooling outlets for a few rounds now

Possible updates for Silverstone, not sure how accurate it is.

1. Didn't realize the 'mouse hole' was this big in longitudinal direction (maybe it's always been like this and not enlarged just now), since this is the first time the 'floor' has been pictured in this forum, as standalone ; and all the pics we have seen of it is from the front 3/4ths angle looking 'down' on the car.

2. Didn't realize how 'steep and sharp' the diffuser kick is, maybe the rake when attached to the car makes it a bit less aggressive, but still astounded by how they make the flow stay attached with such an aggressive kick-up, especially when there is no 'tunnel' like the previous era feeding it.

3. The mini-tunnel is still there inboard of the floor front fences

Left to right: spec multi element wing -- "Winglet" -- diffuser & rabbit hole -- fence

The rabbit hole upper periphery extends quite far back, probably to the RS-Sidewall limit, and, as mentioned, looks to be taller than the belly of the outer diffuser ceiling.
Vorticism had previously noted that the mouse hole/rabbit hole extends rearwards. So this is not a new development, but does confirm it

Also we can see that red bull still have the mini vortex generators on the outboard face of each floor fence
