he didnt call out honda (if thats what youre saying). he made a simple statement, that honda would be the ones to answer that question. some people find that horrible because it goes against their narrative that honda have nothing to do with the vibration problem.. SORRY.. no need for everybody to be hyper sensitive and pick everything out as some insult to their preferred company. especially when you then make some even farther out statement like neweys job may be at risk for putting the owners son in danger.ispano6 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2026, 16:56Perhaps I'm more keen on his diction. He didn't come out and say it as if he knew what was the issue. The journalist kind of baited him with that question, in effect, leading the witness. Besides, they dialed out the oscillations and vibrations, did they not? And who would you credit that to? It's called team effort. No need for Newey to immediately call out Honda.zoroastar wrote: ↑25 Jul 2026, 15:53neweys answers "dont seem genuine" because you are incapable of offering any view that doesnt leave AMR as some villain thats in some weird war against hondas integrity. any quote from newey or any other team member that doesnt offer complete immunity to honda from doing anything wrong is obviously a conspiracy to denigrate the whole company, and all japanese people to boot. (this is weird af)ispano6 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2026, 06:24
Or the new rear suspension doesn't work? New one caused Lance's to break. Both cars had the oscillations. If they reverted back to the old suspension and the vibrations are gone in FP2, one could surmise that there is some relationship.
For some reason Newey's response doesn't seem genuine. I think he's feeling the pressure of Stroll Sr. as his son's car almost pitched him into the wall. Stroll had a masterful save - possibly Newey's job.
if you think newey is feeling some kind of pressure for his job you are delusional. he feels pressure because he want to win. any pressure newey has is put on him by himself at this point in his career.
yeah my main worry was whether the correlation was ok now. definitely hasnt been up until now. next step is zandvoortFNTC wrote: ↑25 Jul 2026, 22:06Ignore the rage baiting, he got me too previously. For some people apparently its Japan vs UK or the west or something. Lets discuss what Aston and Honda can do to improve the situation without fighting each other. This new chassis and aero package which basically has the same philosophy as the first iteration, but refined, proves to me at least that Newey is on the ball. And most importantly the correlation tools work finally. The PU needs a massive upgrade, and hopefully the first step comes at Zandvoort. The second sector today (not so PU dependent) was ahead of both Alpines, who have the best PU. So the aero is to me undoubtedly solid.
A Honda spokesman said fans would be disappointed if they expect a 50 bhp gain from the engine upgrade. If older rumours are true that the Honda upgrade would bring 0.5 of a second, then that is around 30 bhp?zoroastar wrote: ↑25 Jul 2026, 22:18yeah my main worry was whether the correlation was ok now. definitely hasnt been up until now. next step is zandvoortFNTC wrote: ↑25 Jul 2026, 22:06Ignore the rage baiting, he got me too previously. i wish they were more loose with the projected HP gains they may bring. i have the feeling it may be 27 before they get a big bump. but more patience is needed to find out i guess
