Not for transferring engine power to the ground. It would be a continuous, constantly adjustable coupling to activate the MGU-K during braking. Trail braking would even be possible.

They have no clue, wait for it to be released.gansaraku wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026, 15:25Hello everyone, it's been a while since I posted anything.
In some Spanish media, there is talk of an improvement in the power gain of the Honda engine this season that could be around 70hp, depending on the revolutions and the delivery.
This contradicts the ADUO a bit, so, since we were a bit stuck, let's share some info?
PS:In Hungaroring, some journalists were also going in this direction, maybe not so optimistic, but we were talking about a gain frame between 20/50hp
see you guys

You're the type that if no one else is talking about it, it must not be a thing. In my line of work, which is wrapping my head around an engineering problem and then trying to understand the root cause, you tend to look at places or ask questions people failed to ask or consider. We use AI to cut through the menial sifting of code, analysis of data, and sources of truth. You see, what you failed to understand is that I have no bias other than to point out your guys bias and that the incompetence you so love to call Honda is misplaced.mzso wrote: ↑16 Jun 2026, 23:19He fed it his own bias, and articles with rumors and guesses that supported his bias. And the AI hallucinated a reinforcement.DDopey wrote: ↑16 Jun 2026, 15:10I would not trust a purely LLM generated text without context. However, when using LLM’s in combination with the right context (and it can give references as proof), it can provide additional insights and relations between different data. With the recent improvements in reasoning and combining it with agentic where it can search for additional context itself, I would not dismiss it that easy.
Now you make up stories and say I feed it biases. Clearly you don't know how to intelligently use notebookLM and you assume the level I use AI is at the same as yours. Probably a big difference.

I would say that since this is the last one for the year, they've put everything they've learned into it and don't expect to have any more improvements before March of 2027. I also think it means they've found some worth while improvements for real numbers, otherwise they wouldn't have done it. I have no idea how big it is nor would I believe anyone that says they know..maguetox wrote: ↑27 Jul 2026, 19:26Is there a realistic clue of the potential improvements of the next PU?diffuser wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026, 17:30They have no clue, wait for it to be released.gansaraku wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026, 15:25Hello everyone, it's been a while since I posted anything.

"I'm expecting a noticeable improvement, but my main concern is whether ARAMCO’s fuel quality is truly on par with the rest of the grid. Considering all the issues this program has gone through, it feels like the ARAMCO–Honda relationship hasn’t been as strong or as seamless as the ExxonMobil partnership from the previous era."diffuser wrote: ↑27 Jul 2026, 20:06I would say that since this is the last one for the year, they've put everything they've learned into it and don't expect to have any more improvements before March of 2027. Aramco probably have the most experience with the fuel, since they've been making it for F2 for a couple of years. Nobody else has had that kind of experience and feed back. It's no guarantee that it is the best but they should be in the ballpark. This fuel change is new for 2026 for everyone. So whatever Honda was using with ExxonMobil in the past, is full not usable this year.maguetox wrote: ↑27 Jul 2026, 21:25"I'm expecting a noticeable improvement, but my main concern is whether ARAMCO’s fuel quality is truly on par with the rest of the grid. People here are too lazy to find the sources themselves and read it from the HRC F1 website. I aint doing other people's homework. Long time members can vouch that I've said nothing wrong. I never say lies or bullshit. It's against my grain. I call it out when I see it. Folks like you make me want to not contribute.mzso wrote: ↑27 Jul 2026, 19:10(I've been on a "vacation" so this is a tad belated.)
Wow. Saying "I have no bias other than to point out your guys bias" has to be some of the most biased things anyone can ever write.
Not only that, your bias is incredibly huge and obvious. You're quick to throw anyone and anything under the bus to shift away blame from Honda. Whether it has and basis or sense does not seem to matter
Whether it's Newey designing a "bendy chassis", or it's "all the suspension's fault', or it's "the gearbox", or lately the "Honda is lacking in power because of Aramco", or just accusing Newey of lying.
You said you provided sources to the AI, but you provided none here for the purported fuel issue. You just insulted people, by telling them to ask the AI.
Everyone should take with a good amount of doubt what you claim when it concerns Honda or anything related to Japan. As long as you don't provide a hard source.
I agree with mzso. You're just FFull on BS.ispano6 wrote: ↑28 Jul 2026, 03:12People here are too lazy to find the sources themselves and read it from the HRC F1 website. Also, some sources aren't published articles for people to mistranslate. It's only on F1 shows on Japanese television. I would record the show and share it here but I've already decided people here don't deserve that. A lot of people then misinterpret the CC captions and run with ignorant comments thereafter. Just watch and appreciate Honda.
You insult people by calling them lazy for not wasting their time scouring foreign language sources to verify your claims that are often outlandish or quite frankly unrealistic in cases.ispano6 wrote: ↑28 Jul 2026, 03:12People here are too lazy to find the sources themselves and read it from the HRC F1 website. There were also reports from Red Bull, that they had to decline continuing the partnership because they already progressed on building up the engine department, and hired a bunch of people.diffuser wrote: ↑28 Jul 2026, 13:35The funniest BS story is the one where AMR begged Honda to come back.
February 3, 2023 – Honda registered with the FIA as a 2026 power unit manufacturer.
May 24, 2023 – Honda and Aston Martin officially announced their exclusive works partnership and Honda's full return to F1. Honda was involved in the discussions that shaped the 2026 regulations before it formally registered as a power unit manufacturer in February 2023. So it knew it was coming back in, just didn't formerly announce it till February.

I seem to remember a story of Honda talking to McLaren and McLaren saying no, before Honda talked to AMR F1.mzso wrote: ↑28 Jul 2026, 16:23There were also reports from Red Bull, that they had to decline continuing the partnership because they already progressed on building up the engine department, and hired a bunch of people.diffuser wrote: ↑28 Jul 2026, 13:35The funniest BS story is the one where AMR begged Honda to come back.
