Fauzy has been running in the Lotus, not optimal. :)

He's also got 52 laps under his belt. I'm worried about Virgin, only 4 laps so far today ????

Just because a driver posts a time during a 5 lap stint does not mean he was not fueled to go longer

Its not only the fuel its also the tires...You cant have the same tire performance in a 5 lap stint and on an 20+ lap stint...Think about it.

Anyone got any A3 sheets of paper?

Or is the F10 that quick it needs a 'chute to slow it down?

Edit: Massa only has one tent.

Actually Massa's 5 lap stint was straight after a longer 20ish lap stint and unlikely to have refuelled. He stopped on the track, possibly run dry?

Is that him getting towed back to the pits after his stop on the track?

We'll all see pics of the rear from his normal runs so why bother covering up?

Whatever this is,its happenning quite often...Not only for massa but for Barrichello too...So maybe they are going dry...Many cars are left over on track this year isnt it?

OK, as far as I can make out, that session ended in the glory laps shown below with quotes from the commentary.

Vettel, Massa lapping in the 1:24s
1:24.6 for Schumacher and de la Rosa
Sutil 1:24.281
1:25.8 for Massa
Note the leaderboard shows faster times from earlier in the day on a dry track.

What it doesn't show is what programs they were running near the end.
Some of those early fast times were done as a part of a larger program agenda that was in doubt of being completed due to the threat of inclement weather conditions. So as we say; "Let's not try to draw conclusions from testing, or the misleading press releases," (not that I'm suggesting you were)Personally I don't trust the truth in advertising of the comentary :^o :D

I was using the traditional presumption that the short runs at the end of practice are glory laps on near empty tanks. Most seemed to be on short stints of 5 or fewer laps.

Normally these are the fastest times on the leaderboard. However the wet track means there were quicker times earlier in the day on the dry track, even though they were longer runs (with more fuel). Hence the reason I've had to take times from the commentary.

Haven't you got a long bike ride now? You seem to have been here all night, you must be shattered!

Edit - For example, earlier in the day Vettel set a 1:23.440 on lap 12 of a 24 lap run. The short glory run in the wet at the end could only manage 1:24ish. Of course this assumes he was on a glory run at the end ;)
