Yep, two weeks of Jerez seems like a dumb idea.

Next year, they otta get the Test Tracks sorted out for the best of wether. And we need 5 but preferibly 6 tests of three or four day long durations. And to gtet the teams set up for wet wether, Jerez or Portamao would be ideal. Thats if next winter is like what Europe has had this year.

Having rain in your tests isn't as bad as you think, I've said it before, since water on the track decreases grip it gives better indication of which teams have a better mechanical setup, which drivers are better, and if the engineers are really clever, they can gleam insights to aero development by analyzing how the car runs in decreased grip.

a stupid crazy idea perhaps, but F1 is rich enough and could probably invest in a testing track that could be covered in case of rain. Though, I have no idea is this is feasible at all from engineering, financial or whatever point. With so limited testing allowed it is not affordable to loose half of the testing time because of bad weather. Another option has already been suggested by Bernie, to stay at soem of the track and test on Mondays after the GPs.

agree with the monday testing in season vall ...but pre-season is still needed

seems to me that 3 x 5 days would do the trick , and valencia , barcelona and le castellet are in easy reach of each other by road , no more than half a day apart , could then start a little later in february

I agree that pre-season testing is vital. Last year was also bad, but this one is even worse.

There was a much worse pit stop earlier (last week?) when the front left guy got it all wrong, and schumi struggled to pull away.

I've had trouble finding a better picture of the FI with that device attached, anyone have better luck? There's definitely something there, good eye Andy!

Here is the other video with a horrible Mercedes pit stop.

It looks like they need a lot more practice, and/or replace the front jack man.

And as someone else pointed out a few days ago, they do seem to look like waiters.

Surely some room for improvement. Has the Brawn team forgotten how it is done? I would think they havn't or at least that they will be sharp and ready when it counts.

 that's pretty funny! are they not the same pit crew as brawn last year? are they all new? Wouldn't the same people (honda -> brawn -> mercedes) be there?

(and any pics on that FI device!) :D

cheerio

nice vid btw!

edit - WB just beat me to the punch, apparently confirming that it's the same pit team...

I just checked two major image sites and none have any good images of the FI devices.
