On the nth rewatching, maldonado actually has so much momentum into the side of hamilton that he ends up off the track.

To those asking about Parc Ferme, download the regs and have a look!

http://www.fia.com/sport/Regulations/f1regs.html

Clause 34.1 of the Sporting Regs allows a list of 24 items, one of them is "repair of genuine accident damage"

I'd argue that more sparks means more friction and kinetic energy which turned into those sparks; but I can see where you're coming from. Speaking of Flavio... I can't stop laughing at the way he reacted to being driven around Monaco by James May

Apologies...I made the corrections....
Are those speed traps from the fastest lap?
If yes it is quite clear why Hamilton lost so much time in S1.
Yeah....from the last qualifying lap.....I looked through all the Q3 sector one speed times and interesting to see that Hamilton never got past 305 the entire session while only up until the last lap when Vettel took pole did Webber and Vettel go faster than 307!

Alo interesting is that Perez, Alguesuari and Rosberg all clocked 319 and over with Rosberg at 321....
Generally I don't care about what people say. I have to be clear with myself. When everything goes well, people celebrate you, when you make mistakes people criticize you.

To me, that looks like the McLarens are set up much more for the race than the RBRs are. Lower gear ratios for higher fuel, and better performance in the aero parts. I wonder if it may backfire though – last year that's exactly what RBR did, and it didn't half go wrong.

You could be right beelsebob, but Hamilton was less than a tenth faster than Vettel in S2. 9.2 hundredths to be exact.

For me it looks like that's the result of Hamilton crash at the end of Q2.

What would it affect though? They replaced his front wing already before that

Alignment of the front left? Something wrong with his car toe then? Or...?

You got to love how 2011 is panning out. Now even qualifying produces rabid discussion :P

I must say, I am really impressed with Senna's performance. In this though conditions he didn't make mistake and was really fast. We don't know it, but he might be actually much better, than most of people thought of him after his rookie season in HRT, which was more of a GP2 car than actual F1 machine in the terms of speed...

Kovalainen also did great job, being fast and using variable conditions to his aid.

If Lewis' toe was wonked by the contact, would that not indicate that his suspension is bent somehow? Would that not cause the possibility of the monza 2010 type retirement that lewis had?
