Please now it should be obvious to all that Mercedes is going relatively back in pecking order, and it gets worse every year.

My analysis is that it´s not tyre degradation. The car is absolutly crap on mid-to-full fuel load.

When the tank starts emptying they getting more competetive but hen it´s too late. Qualy is empty tank and the w-duct makes it fast, but it does not really matter becuse in the race they only get about 10 laps in the end where they are competitive. Both Nico and MS started to catch today in the end and the same for Australia where Nico started catch in the end.

Wondering what can cause this and one thing it could be fueltank layout, suspension layout/functionality. I don´t think it´s aerodynamics because the car is clearly fast on low fuel, and it wouldn´t be if aero was screwed.

I predict that very soon there will be an announcement that there is a "fundamental" issue (this year again) which causes problems with high fuel loads.

why does the car seem to have no downforce? even the mid field teams were miles faster than both mercs in sector 2.

even force india seem to have a much better car than mercedes.. has there ever been a works team thats slower than everyone it supplies engines to?

I think they should go for mclaren style / sauber style exhaust

The way Rosberg fell back from 4th to 15th(?) really shows this car has no race pace (unless there was something not working on the car). I am very surprised by how badly it is doing.

Quiet simply there seems to be no pace in the middle sector, and the conditions demanded for grip/downforce than straight line speed.

Nico is nowhere what he was last year, consistently improving his potions backwards this time 14th.

The whole weeks effort is worth 1 point. Sad truth .

schumachers lasted so long only because he was lapping 1-2 seconds slower than even williams and force india then later on the same set of tyres he started to almost match them.

im beginning to hate..yes HATE this team. the only thing they will achieve this year is making MS retire HOW i ask you..HOW is it even posible to qualify a car almost p1 and not even feature during the race????????? Forget Grosjean, he'll get sacked like before by the same team if he keeps on going like this but, honestly, on race pace merc are behind FI, Williams, TR and sauber...not to mention the rest. Roseberg was plain useless today..lapping almost 2 seconds a lap slower than MS at a similar place in the race on similar tyres...USELESS The anti Ms trolls were wrong up to now, MS is not throwing away his rep...merc is. I actually wish mercedes withdraws from f1 by china so that i dont have to watch this anymore....im really really embarrased for them and so sick of getting my hopes up. there...its out...now i feel better...o wait...no

I'm wondering how can a team which spend testing the new tires one entire test session with the old car can not understand the tires?
I mean every year its the same, either they are not heating them enough or overheating them. How come every other team can find the sweatspot for the tires?

Actually, I see a bit different what is going on in MGP this season.
Unlike previous two season, this car was tailored 100% up to MSC demands. Keke is still silent, but not for long I hope. Nico isn't underachieving, he was silently demoted to backup driver, and that was main NO-NO when Keke made the deal with Mercedes. Just wait and see how internal events in team will develop. Mercedes has shown such unprofessional vanity, favoring MSC no matter what, even though it already proved as wrong every time they've made changes on the car upon his requests in previous two seasons.

time for ross brawn to be tuff and fire incompetent people like Loic Bigois and some people from aero department, or risk loosing job of about 500 people working in the team.

the aero department has been a disastrous for 3 years now and they havent solve any problems.

actually i never believed loic bigois, his track results speak from itself.

geoff needs to work as head of that aero department, and costa bob geoff needs to sort current pproblem asap... i dont care if ross says they cant affort to waste resources but that has been same statement from ross for 3 years now.

Too much hype over this car.. Really, i think Ferrari is faster than this car on race pace.

They had a great one lap pace, but their race pace is terrible.

hell no!! We all know when michael comeback he can't fight for title in first 2 years This year car it's a huge step forward but they still have tyres problems I'm Ross can handle this until China or first european grand prix.
Today Michael can be in top 5 without problems if grosjean let him .... let's wait next race and hope no incidents in first corner.

Are you in a parallel universe or something? who cares where Michael or Rosberg is if the team finishes in 2 races behind the midfield??

As for the MGP, Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

on overall basis (qualy+ high load pace + low load pace + wet performance) merc is behind lotus and ferrari.

I would say not much to tell on this race, I would say Michael made a terrible Start it his fault, and it became worse when grojean come into the scene. but i am not losing hope to this car, a Podium will come this year. and I think it will happen soon. they made an improvement from melbourne to Sepang, I just want to see a dry Race, because this race was for everybody to take.
