The point I'm making is that you are off topic and we have discussed the points we agreed to visit. You mention Iraq. We could be spending hundreds of pages discussing that. I'm not going to. I could mention the Tuareg state which is finally coming into existence due to the Arab spring. There are many different cases with good or bad outcome. The point is that the people are entitled to self determine what they want and we have no right to second guess if they are capable or going in the right direction.
IMO for the purpose of this discussion the relevant points are:
- Should F1 call off a race because the political neutrality is violated by the promoter?
- Should F1 call off a race due to security problems by revolutionaries?
I have made my view clear that on both points separately and particularly if viewed combined the race should have been called off. Todt decided differently and we have discussed the reasons as far as they are known to the public. We can now decide what we will individually do about it.
I shall monitor the situation and stay in the discussion loop about anything that is relevant to the topic. I shall also watch the sessions as I always do. As my opinion about the neutrality and duty to keep F1 safe is not shared by FiA and FOM I have no power to change anything. I just hope that all stay safe. If the revolutionaries find a non violent way to block the race they will have my approval. I will gladly miss the race if it helps their just cause.
