Anyone know what tires are left for tomorrow for the teams, how many fresh inters? I assume everyone's good for both types of dry tires.

"Ok Lewis, Its Hammertime!!" - Peter Bonnington

"Fresh tires, 15 laps. What do you think Lewis Hamilton is going to do?" - Martin Brundle

If you put together his best 3 sectors in Q3 he comes out 1 second quicker than Vettel, after being 1.2 seconds quicker in sector 2. Even more impressive from Merc is that Rosberg was much quicker than Hamilton in sector 1 and 3 and if you put together the combined best sectors of Rosberg with Hamilton then Merc were potentially 2 seconds quicker than Red Bull. If it is the same conditions tomorrow Hamilton could very easily pull out a lead quickly.
The problem is you can not put together Rosberg's and Lewis's sectors at Spa. In this particular circuit, it would be like combining high downforce and high top speed setups.

In practice Vettel was much faster than Webber in S1 and S3 but 8 tenths slower in S2. Obviously the favorable pick and choose of these sectors is also not possible.
Yes but I'm pretty sure Rosberg and Hamilton have very similar setup whereas in practice Vettel and Webber had a very different setup. The point I was making was to gauge the ultimate pace of both cars - Hamilton clearly made mistakes in both sector 1 and 3 on his fastest lap and lost time, so Rosberg was a good reference of what he could have achieved without those mistakes.

nobody appears to have any fresh inters in the top ten at least

Can we get the link to the video of the pole lap? Just a single frame isn't telling anything if he gained an advantage or not.

I believe everyone has 1 more fresh set.

not sure that the sector times I have seen are correct , but from what I can seen the top 4 teams are set up as follows

hamilton higher downforce than rosberg
vettel same as webber
kimi same as grosjean
alonso higher downforce than massa

so on this basis rain tomorrow would suit me !.... hamilton and alonso ahead of vettel would tighten up the championship a bit !

Button says: “Looking forward to tomorrow, if the weather is wet, or changeable, as we expect it to be, then things could get tricky for all the front-runners, because I think we’ve all used our supply of inters.”

Wow, really happy about that pole. Unexpected after yesterdays issues. However, I feel like Rosberg was quicker than Lewis today but Lewis got the timing right so tomorrow should be very tough for him to win. Vettel and Rosberg to fight for the win imo.

Vettel said he's got 1 more and I think so do lotus and ferrari. Merc could possibly have 2 fresh sets as they apparently used only 1 in q1.

Take a look at Vettel's fastest Quali-lap at Hockenheim 2012 - miles off the white lines at the hairpin. Or Alonsos pole lap in the very same GP. Or Vettel's pole lap in Melbourne 2011.

It's not a biggie and the advantage is negligible.

Hamilton might have gained something but you can hear the car rattle over the bumps and when you consider it was wet he might have lost time. For me you get what you deserve there, he could have easily lost control of the car in that situation.

Yeah thanks man. He quite did cut the corner, but I also think the bumpy ride over the kerbs hampered the speed. I don't really believe he gained with it, but you could argue either way. Good spot!
