Not only that. The quality is of their CF parts is not that top notch as well. Remember the first day of testing with FW coming off? (I know they fixed it, but anyway) Or last season Rosberg's FW came off in the race. What is it with this team never getting it right? Even when they are performing well, something happens out of the blue to ruin the day...myurr wrote:You definitely get the impression that the gearbox is going to be that teams achilles heel.ACJJ619 wrote:Hamilton has finally head out after yet more gearbox issues. He's had such bad luck this pre-season. Such a shame.

The fin dimensions do not respect the mandatory sizes in height and lenght, imho.
Anyone?
Take a closer look: they are different! In the one you posted the fin is much more bigger.mix2mix wrote:Here is closer look from AMuS :Giando wrote:Sorry but i believe that's photoshopped.mix2mix wrote:Now Hamilton go out with different engine cover:

It's just JPG compression arifacts.Giando wrote: And if you just enlarge the supposedly photoshopped image, you can see it has been touched...
for what purpose, i don't know.
But it's a fake.
Bizarre if it's just a reflection... it makes the fin look transparent...Leon wrote:It's just JPG compression arifacts.Giando wrote: And if you just enlarge the supposedly photoshopped image, you can see it has been touched...

Ahhh, come on, you're not doing them justice!Morteza wrote:What is it with this team never getting it right? Even when they are performing well, something happens out of the blue to ruin the day...
I have nothing against them. You have no idea how desperate I am to see them come out being the team to beat. What I mean is they have to make the car absolutely reliable. Reliability has not been this team's strongest point in the past 4 years. I really like to be proved wrong.henra wrote:Ahhh, come on, you're not doing them justice!Morteza wrote:What is it with this team never getting it right? Merc are the ones that seem to be best prepared for the season. Pretty much every other Team on the grid would probably love to be in their shoes atm.
Very fast car, comparatively very reliable. Just look at the mileage they have done.
Merc is probably among the Teams, where I'm the most confident that they will see the chequered flag in Melbourne while still being fast.
Plus it appears the car is fundamentally good.
And Gearbox problems are no wonder this year with the incresed torque of the Turbo engines plus Electric motors (which usually have crazy startup torque). And this while intensely chasing minimum weight. Chances are we will see quite a number of gearbox failures this season across all Teams.
