Red Bull RB10 Renault

More great render and CGI shots, this time from redbull.

It shows the different HERS layout, exhaust, and the intercooler setup where the intercooler in in the right hand sidepod and they run a double radiator in the other sidepod.

Who suggested that?
I only see harsh reactions on people repeating technical nonsense without any proof or at least a substantiated explanation.
Red Bull have all but admitted that they won't be at the front of the grid for the first race, and will probably struggle until they get back to Europe. They have said though that they still think the RB10 is a good car, and once they get on top of the drive-train issues they expect to be back at the sharp end.

Christian Horner also said something about Mercedes lapping the rest of the field by 2 laps, but he's just playing mind games trying to get the FIA to give them more time or something.

The video still shows no nose-mounted cameras. I'll give an immediate +1 rating to the first person to post a picture of the 2014 Red Bull with nose cameras.

Is RB mounting the nose cameras inside the nose and claiming they meet the dimensional position requirements inside the car because the rules don't specify "outside the car" in a direct, literal way? Or are they trying to use clever arguments about single surfaces to claim there is no inside vs outside the car?

That won't be clever, that will be trolling RBR style :D

Will be interesting to see that Adrian did to the Cameras. Someone here thought of integrating them into the Wishbones right ?

I think the mayor regulation is the written rule:
20.3.4 When viewed from the side of the car, the entire camera (or dummy camera) in position 2 shown in Drawing 6 must lie within a box formed by two vertical lines 150mm and 450mm forward of the front wheel centre line and two horizontal lines 325mm and 525mm above the reference plane.
Any camera or camera housing fitted in the left hand position 2 shown in Drawing 6 must be mounted in order that its major axis where passing through the centre of the camera lens (or corresponding position for a camera housing) does not intersect any part of the car lying forward of the camera or camera housing.

This does not disallow them to enter the bodywork...so for me a solution with a 5cm sunk-in camera housing could be legal and would be hard to copy due to the crash test.

The wishbones are too high and too far behind and I do not think you can mount the standard camara housing in a wishbone without loosing too much stability.

Another thing is, that the rules do not state, that the cameras must be installed horizontal...maybe this is another possible solution.

The gearbox casing's shape is very interesting. You can see it around 0:28 in front of RIC when he's walking. It hosts the Turbo which seem to lie very low between the engine and the G-box, not on top of the latter.
Like some Indy cars...

Indeed, this looks great. Must wokr for a very low COG.

Could this be the reason for those temperature issues? I mean the turbo should get very hot and the gear box right next to it won't like cooking temperatures, does it? perhaps the turbo even gets hoter than renault said to RBR?

So the handmade cooling vents in testing could have been for the gearbox? (could explain, why they were only on one side)
